Job description

Job Summary:

Ø  Read and understand documents on design, specifications and functional requirements

Ø  Design the architecture, functional and technical specifications regarding train performances and customer requirements.

Ø  Drive system design activities regarding traction system.

Ø  Close cooperation with work package leader and engineering teams from other locations

Ø  Ensure the coordination of design activities done by internal or external suppliers, attend to ECR’s and ECN’s

Ø  Collect external (customer, standards) and internal (rolling stock) requirements,

Ø  Ensure consistency and compatibility between all traction or auxiliary functions specifications by verifying functional requirements and component specification.

Ø  Participate in the commissioning (fine tuning) and coordinate with the validation manager

Ø  Identify the technical risks

Ø  Support the traction or auxiliary team for implementation or update of the technical part of the risk mitigation plan.

Ø  Participate in technical meetings with customer in order to provide support to the Sub-System Manager.

Ø  Specify tests and participate in validation and certification process.

Ø  Contribute to resolution of issues and provide expertise to the Project team

Ø  Write, deliver and review of type text documentation

Ø  Closure of punch list by analysing anomalies and address open topics

Ø  Create type test and system assurance documentation

Ø  Prepare & Publish Performance compliance & non-compliance reports

Ø  Support homogenisation / integration processes







Required Skills:

Ø  Completed technical degree in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering or similar areas

Ø  Strong understanding of rail products and several years of work experience in a similar position in the railway sector

Ø  Technical competencies in electro mechanics, electronic, automation, pneumatic and taking RAMS aspects into consideration

Ø  Knowledge of operating safety

Ø  Good knowledge of tools, processes and method engineering in the industry sector

Ø  Ability to manage conflicts

Ø  Willingness to travel

Ø  Fluent English language skills
