• It is expected from the candidate to be able to
• Plan and construct cost / price estimates of various parts, assemblies and systems in support to Procurement and Engineering organisations
  Understand technology, manufacturing process, and supply chain cost drivers
  Perform cost driver, breakdown, and benchmark analyses, by analysing product requirements and specifications with Engineering
  Structure large sets of data in a format that is easy to leverage
  Participate to supplier visits, identify cost reduction potential from a design, manufacturing, supply chain point of view, make recommendations
  Collect high amount of data to perform should costing analyses at part and assembly levels
  Adopt a Total Cost of Ownership approach while estimating the cost of parts and assemblies, including cost of manufacturing, supplier supply chain, transportation, taxation, mark ups, over consumption, risks, manufacturing inefficiencies, etc.
  Analyse and quantify economical implications of client requirements onto the design and manufacturability of some parts and assemblies
  Participate to multi-functional workshops, particularly with Engineering and Methods, aiming at identifying cost reduction initiatives, through Design to Cost, Design to Manufacturing and Design to Value
  Prepare negotiation dossiers with the Procurement organisation, and prepare business cases
  Analyse complex systems from CAD, prototypes and on the shop floor
• The candidate shall be able to demonstrate
• At least 3 years of professional experience in a Costing function, preferably within the transportation industry
  Abilities to work across functions, and in teams
  Track record of successful benchmark, or should cost induced negotiations, and/or supply cost improvement initiatives

• Define or review the Concept, Functional Requirements, Software Requirements and Test Specification;
• Support technically the Procurement department in the design and definition of the ATP systems supplied by third parties (internal and external);
• Give the necessary input for System Schematics and Bill of Material for all the ATP subsystems;
• Define and develop the appropriate technical solutions to integrate the ATP system fulfilling the international requirements in force (UNISIG) and the specific customer requirements (public and private operators);
• Design the electrical, mechanical, SW and HW interfaces between ATP system and vehicle.
• Provide input to the safety, reliability and maintenance requirements;
• Support and when necessary participate in the ATP-vehicle integration tests in field and the country specific authorization processes;

• Languages: Proficient level of English is required
• University or College Degree in Electrical; Mechanical or Electronics Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering or Computer science is highly desirable
• Rail industry background is mandatory
• Experience in the development and integration of control systems in railway industry is considered an asset
• Design and integration of on board Automatic Train Protection systems is also highly desirable
• Knowledge of ERTMS/ETCS highly preferred
• Team player, autonomous and solution-oriented
• Good communication and technical writing skills with ability to work in a multidisciplinary and international environment.

• Support the customer in change control activities of Mass Properties Department.
• Assist in carrying out Mass Properties Calculation and Vehicle Weight Optimization including the Test & Validation, Weighing of the train.
• Support in the assessment of problem reports and change requests created in PDM metaphase from design and configuration point of view.
• Prepare work packages to execute the change based on decisions made with the customer.
• Co-ordinate with the team for task execution.
• Ensuring all stakeholders are aware and agreed about the scope of changes.

REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM THE JOB DUTIES

• Bachelor of Engineering / Technology (B.E. / B. Tech: equivalent to BS/ Diploma) in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5-8 years of experience in Hand Calculations.
• Hands on experience in handling the Weights Management task, including preparation of various reports, testing, weighing of the train.
• Be able to work independently, in reviewing the CDRLs related to Weights department.
• Knowledge of MS Excel, Catia, PDM, and VPM is required.
• Desire for continuous education and training effort.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with all levels within and outside of the engineering organization
